Preparing an emergency kit before a hurricane

Tracking Hurricane Helene, Georgia impacts | Thursday 5p forecast
SUMMARY: Hurricane Helen is currently a Category 3 storm, anticipated to make landfall on the Florida coast tonight, possibly intensifying to a low-end Category 4. As it moves into Georgia and near Atlanta, it will downgrade to a tropical storm. Heavy rain and tropical storm-force winds (40-60 mph) are expected, contributing to severe flooding risks, especially due to saturated ground conditions. Flash flood warnings are active in affected areas, with additional counties added to the hurricane warning. As the storm passes, conditions should improve by Friday afternoon, with reduced rain and gusty winds lingering through the day.
The National Hurricane Center reported that Helene had strengthened to a Category 3 storm on Thursday.
SUMMARY: Following the presidential debate on September 10, numerous polls in battleground Georgia indicate that former President Donald Trump remains ahead of Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, though the margins are narrow and statistically tied. The RealClear Polling website shows Trump leading 48.9%-46.7% during the period from September 4-24. The latest Marist Poll reveals a close 50%-49% lead for Trump. Voter demographics indicate strong support for Harris among independents, Black voters, and women, while Trump leads among white voters and men. Key issues for voters include inflation, democracy, immigration, and abortion, with Election Day just 40 days away.

Helene in Atlanta could be what Hugo was to Charlotte | Georgia
