Widespread Long-Duration Power Outages Highly Likely in Tallahassee
SUMMARY: Tallahassee, Florida, is bracing for hurricane-force winds from storm Helen, predicted to hit tonight. The Weather Channel Correspondent Justin Michaels reports from Tallahassee, Florida where he said that the tree canopy is a major concern as Hurricane Helene comes ashore and pushes north. He said that the entire Tallahassee area, 55% of the capital city has a tree canopy and 37% of that canopy does not sustain winds very well which means widespread long-duration power outages.
