Absentee voting underway in Mississippi ahead of 2024 General Election

SUMMARY: Absentee voting for the general elections is currently in progress, allowing early voters to visit the rank and circuit clerk’s office. Students studying out of county are also eligible. Voters must present a photo ID and have a valid excuse to vote absentee in Mississippi. Additionally, the registration deadline for those not yet registered to vote is Monday, October 7th.

Ronnie Taylor, an Oxford firefighter with family in the affected area, shared that his relatives evacuated to Dothan, Alabama, to stay safe from the hurricane’s impact. The team is prepared to provide vital support as needed.

Several firefighters from across north Mississippi are already in Florida to help with Hurricane Helene relief.
