Volunteer Ruth Sanders has been collecting Care Baskets for a worthy cause

SUMMARY: Miss Ruth Sanders is collecting care baskets for cancer undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy to show community during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. As a volunteer at the Baptist Anderson Cancer Center since 2013, she aims to patients feel loved and not alone in their journey. Donations of care baskets, items like unscented lotion, hard candy, inspirational cards, and blankets, are welcome. Baskets can be dropped off on October 5th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at El Bethal Missionary Baptist Church. Donors are encouraged to include their names or logos on the baskets.

2 suspects arrested in connection to commercial burglary

SUMMARY: The Hattiesburg Department Ivan Miguel Mendes Lopez and Christopher James McRainey early this morning for their involvement in a commercial burglary that occurred Wednesday. Police responded to a commercial alarm on Broadway around 2:20 a.m. and apprehended the suspects approximately 30 minutes later on Pine Street. During questioning, discovered that the pair was also linked to another commercial burglary earlier this month on Highway 49. Both now face two counts of commercial burglary and have been booked into the Forest County Jail.
