Pasco County residents impacted by Hurricane Idalia flooding prepare for new storm
SUMMARY: As Hurricane Helen approaches, residents in the Bay Area, still wary after experiencing Hurricane Adalia last summer, prepare for potential impacts. Formerly flooded areas in Pasco County are particularly anxious, with some, like Howard Rabe, actively reinforcing their homes with shutters and flood barriers. Rabe recalls significant flooding during Adalia, emphasizing the need for preparedness. Nearby, Rick Way reflected on the devastation he faced last year, where homes were engulfed in water. Residents are sandbagging and praying for safety, hoping to avoid similar destruction as they monitor Helen’s developments. Local news reports highlight their resilience and concerns.
As we monitor Tropical Storm Helene and its potential impacts to the Tampa Bay Area, people who lived through Hurricane Idalia last summer are on edge.
