SUMMARY: In his first start as quarterback for the University of Texas, Arch Manning drew mixed reviews. One analyst graded him a B+, praising his deep-ball accuracy and arm strength, noting improvement over previous quarterbacks. Another gave him a C+, comparing his performance unfavorably to his predecessor against UTSA. Both agreed that he showed promise, with flashes of talent but also faced typical freshman challenges, including poor decisions leading to interceptions. Arch’s athleticism and ability to throw deep were highlighted, leading to optimism about his growth. Angel mom to Allred: Political gain narrative a ‘slap in the face’ | Texas
SUMMARY: A Houston mother, Alexis Nungaray, criticized U.S. Rep. Colin Allred for his policies, which she claims contributed to her daughter Jocelyn’s murder by illegal immigrants. In a campaign ad, she highlighted how the “catch and release” policy led to her daughter’s death after the perpetrators were released shortly before the crime. Allred, responding to accusations that he was exploiting her tragedy for political gain, expressed a lack of condolences for her loss and reiterated his stance on immigration reform. Nungaray defended her advocacy, stating she speaks for her daughter, emphasizing her goal to end policies she believes endanger lives.
