Two men charged with burglary, home invasion in Lee Co.

They reportedly invaded the residence of a 66-year-old disabled man, demanding money and his phone under threat of assault. During the break-in, the suspects stole several debit and credit cards and electronic devices, which they used at various businesses in the area. Williams has been jailed with a bond set at $50,000, while Morrison awaits transport for his charges. Both face enhanced penalties due to the victim’s age and disability. SNAP increases โ€“ and changes to who qualifies โ€“ take effect Oct. 1

Unlike previous adjustments, this increase is relatively modest due to a lower inflation rate. Additionally, new work requirements will impact able-bodied adults without dependents aged 53 and 54; they must prove employment or to qualify, similar to younger adults. Exemptions apply to certain groups, and the homeless.

Teen arrested for fatal shooting at Hazlehurst basketball court
