SNAP increases – and changes to who qualifies – take effect Oct. 1

Teen arrested for fatal shooting at Hazlehurst basketball court

SUMMARY: A 17-year-old named Jeremiah Wilson has been and charged with murder the shooting of 23-year-old Jaylen Larry at the Hazlehurst Softball Complex basketball court on October 23. The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. during a fight, after which Larry was shot multiple times and later died at the Copiah County Medical Center. Wilson turned himself in to authorities in Brookhaven. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
