SUMMARY: The Caddo Parish Commission recently maintained property tax millage rates instead of lowering them, resulting in a projected revenue increase of $69,000 compared to last year’s $1.3 million. The ordinance passed with a 9-3 vote. During the reassessment year, some residents may notice higher property taxes based on their property evaluations. Additionally, two ordinances were unanimously approved: one sold excess land to Gods of Grind, LLC, and the other donated surplus property to the Fire Protection District. A new public safety committee was formed to address various community safety issues, and two zoning ordinances were introduced regarding short-term rentals and monuments on parish property.

Fire damages 12 units at Northwest Side apartment complex, SAFD says
