Birmingham police officer arrested, charged with domestic violence/strangulation
SUMMARY: A Birmingham police officer, Justin Bizer Cowarts, faces a domestic violence strangulation charge following a reported incident involving his on-again, off-again girlfriend. Derelict sailboat on Pensacola Beach removed after months
SUMMARY: The Lady Katherine III sailboat, which became a temporary landmark on Pensacola Beach after being spotted as a ghost ship in June, has now been removed due to weather concerns. โProject SEARCHโ partners with Santa Rosa Medical Center, providing opportunities for disabled young
SUMMARY: An internship program for young adults with disabilities is expanding in Northwest Florida, with the Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton becoming the fifth location for Project SEARCH. In just a few weeks, five interns will begin a 10-week program aimed at helping them gain skills and secure full-time employment. Partnering with Global Connections to Employment, the program includes various roles such as laundry, housekeeping, and patient care. Intern Xavier Vos expressed excitement about exploring opportunities. Following a ribbon-cutting event, families toured the work areas, eagerly anticipating the interns’ graduation in May.
Friday’s ribbon cutting in Santa Rosa County marks the fifth location across Northwest Florida where Global Connections to Employment has started what’s known as Project SEARCH, an internship program for young adults with disabilities.
