Kentucky to require vision screenings to help keep unsafe drivers off the roads
SUMMARY: Starting January 1st, a new bill in Kentucky mandates that drivers must pass a vision test to renew their licenses. Residents can have their eyes examined by a vision specialist of their choice or can opt for vision screenings at any Kentucky Transportation Cabinet driver licensing regional office during the license renewal process. This initiative is part of efforts to maintain high standards for driver safety in the state.
The bill requiring drivers to undergo a vision test when renewing their license will take effect Jan. 1, 2025.
