SUMMARY: Northwest Florida will receive $10 million in funding to address traffic safety on Fairfield Drive and Pensacola Boulevard in Escambia County, where accidents have become a significant concern. The Emerald Coast Regional Council, partnering with Escambia County, plans to implement improvements such as better crosswalks and lighting in response to nearly 2,000 crashes on Fairfield Drive and over 550 on Pensacola Boulevard between 2019 and 2023.
