Morning Forecast – Monday, Sept. 16th
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Chase Ward reports improving visibility as fog lifts across the region, with some sunshine in South Arkansas. Current temperatures are in the lower 70s, while humidity remains high, causing lingering low cloud cover. There’s potential for spotty thunderstorms this afternoon as a line of storms moves through the area. The weather pattern will remain dry and calm as the remnants of Tropical Storm Francine dissipate. Moving forward, clearer skies are expected by midweek, with temperatures rising into the lower 90s by the weekend. The tropics see potential Tropical Cyclone 8 approaching South Carolina.
Fog has developed this Monday morning leading to reduce visibility so take it a bit slower than normal on the roads. Visibility will improve closer towards lunchtime. Clouds will also linger tonight. The remnants of Francine will drift southeast still allowing for chances of showers and a few t-storms this afternoon. By the mid-week, skies will clear, and temperatures will climb a little bit to the lower 90’s. Daytime clouds will also linger over the weekend with seasonal temperatures.

Beautiful afternoon underway, plus a look at the new drought monitor ~ Mia
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Mia Montgomery reports a cool Thursday in San Antonio, with morning temperatures in the upper 30s and a light freeze in the Hill Country, marking the coldest morning since February. Sunny, dry conditions helped afternoon highs reach the low 70s. Temperatures will dip into the upper 50s by 8 p.m. and low to mid-50s by late evening. The coming days will remain chilly, with highs rebounding into the mid to upper 70s. A potential cold front may impact the area around Thanksgiving, but no rain is expected, and severe drought conditions persist.
After the coldest morning since February, low humidity, sunshine, and calm winds will help temperatures warm into the pleasant low 70s this afternoon. A gradual warming trend takes shape over the next several days as we monitor another front sometime around Thanksgiving. Here’s an update with Mia.
