12 people killed after explosive attacks in Lebanon
SUMMARY: A coordinated series of attacks targeting Hezbollah militants involved beepers that detonated in public areas, including grocery stores, injuring the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon. This incident has severely undermined Hezbollah’s confidence in their communication security and the supply chain for their military operations. Initial investigations indicate that the beepers were tampered with and booby-trapped with explosives before reaching Lebanon. American officials suspect a Taiwanese company of supplying the devices, which the company claims were produced by a licensing partner in Hungary. This raises significant concerns about Hezbollah’s operational integrity and security.
Details on how the attack was executed are largely uncertain, as investigators try to piece together how it happened. Here’s what we know so far. (Via CBS).

Former Roland animal control supervisor arrested, accused of animal cruelty
SUMMARY: On August 20th, the Assistant Public Works Director discovered a dead dog in a locked pen at the animal control shelter, where 32-year-old supervisor Kayla Barnes is responsible for the animals’ care. Authorities found 14 other dogs alive but without food or water. Barnes admitted she did not feed or hydrate the dogs, despite temperatures ranging from 70 to 100 degrees during two weekends in August. Subsequently, she was arrested and booked into the Sequoyah County Jail, though she has since been released. The case highlights serious neglect and raises concerns about animal welfare standards at the shelter.
The former animal control supervisor for the town of Roland, Oklahoma, was arrested and accused of animal cruelty.
