Another restaurant is closing in Jackson
SUMMARY: Lou’s Full-Service, located on Fortification, will close on September 28th after nearly a decade in Jackson. In a Facebook post, the restaurant cited increasing obstacles at its current location that have become difficult to overcome. As it approaches its 10-year anniversary, the establishment has decided to expand its sandwich shop on Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland, shifting its operations to this new location.
Lou’s Full Serv is closing its Jackson location.

DOJ investigating the Rankin County Sheriff's Department
SUMMARY: The Department of Justice has initiated a civil rights investigation into the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department following the arrest and sentencing of multiple deputies for the sexual assault and brutal assault of two Black men in Morton. The investigation will focus on three main issues: excessive force, unlawful stops and searches, and discriminatory policing practices. In response, the Sheriff’s Office stated via Facebook that they aim to enhance their transparency during this inquiry.
The Department of Justice is investigating the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department.

Interview: Autism organization offering sensory-friendly film in Corinth
SUMMARY: Transformers One is set to open this weekend, and local nonprofit Reconnect for Autism is hosting a sensory-friendly screening for children and adults with autism. Melissa Esser from Reconnect explains that the nonprofit aims to provide sensory-friendly experiences, allowing individuals with sensory sensitivities to enjoy community activities comfortably. The special screening will feature adjusted lighting and sound, along with play areas featuring Legos, allowing attendees to move freely in a judgment-free zone. The event will take place this Saturday at the Corinth Malco, with doors opening at 9:00 AM and the movie starting at 9:30 AMโno sign-up necessary.
