Most of the destruction was caused by fallen trees rather than structural damage. Homeowners are advised to their insurance policies, as coverage for tree removal varies. Entergy anticipates restoring power by tonight or Friday as the storm moves north.

Tupelo's Braylen Williams ruled ineligible to compete in the 2024-2025 academic year

Tupelo High made a case for his eligibility since summer, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Williams had previously played as a quarterback at Nettleton High for two years.
