Mississippi State granted $9.9 million to improve employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities
SUMMARY: Mississippi State University has been awarded nearly $10 million from the U.S. Department of Education to enhance employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The funding of $9,995,345 aims to develop strategies for transitioning youth and adults with disabilities to competitive integrated employment. This grant is part of a $251 million initiative distributed among 27 grantees nationwide, focusing on ensuring access to quality employment. U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona emphasized the importance of providing opportunities for over 60 million adults with disabilities to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Mississippi State is the only recipient from Mississippi and one of 13 higher education institutions involved.
