SUMMARY: Tuesday is critical for Tropical Storm Francine’s potential to strengthen into a Category 2 storm before landfall. The impact of dry air and strong wind shear could hinder its development as it approaches the coast of Southwest or South Central Louisiana. While Francine’s structure may struggle, the threat of heavy rainfall remains, along with gusty winds causing minor damage and coastal flooding. For the latest updates, download the WWL app or visit wwltv.com. Reporting is Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin.

TRACKING FRANCINE: Tuesday will be the make-or-break day for Francine, says Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin. Dry air and wind shear could cause the storm to struggle to develop.
