SUMMARY: A developing tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to make landfall as a hurricane in Louisiana on Wednesday, prompting urgent preparations. Currently, the storm is still unorganized but forecast models suggest it could strengthen to a category one hurricane, impacting areas around Lafayette and Southeast Louisiana, including St. Mary and Terrebonne Parishes. Wind gusts may reach up to 100 mph along the coast, while rainfall totals could range from 3 to 6 inches. Although there are no warnings issued yet, residents should prepare for potential stronger impacts as the storm approaches. Conditions are expected to improve by Thursday.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 6 has formed in the southern Gulf of Mexico. It is forecast to become a category 1 hurricane and make landfall in South Louisiana. Impacts in Southeast LA and South MS: heavy rain, strong winds, and coastal flooding is expected Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Wednesday and Thursday will bring the roughest weather. Tropical downpours may lead to street flooding.
