2024 Hub City Hot Air Balloon Festival kicks off on Friday

SUMMARY: The annual Hub City Hot Air Balloon Festival in Hattiesburg starts tonight, featuring two days of live music, food vendors, and tethered hot air balloon rides. Pilots from four states will showcase their balloons at the Forest County Municipal Purpose Center, with proceeds benefiting the Pink Ribbon Fund, which supports those affected by breast cancer. Gates open at 5 PM tonight and tomorrow. Tethered rides allow guests to experience views from 40 to 60 feet above ground while being secured to the ground. Weather permitting, additional rides are available tomorrow morning from 6 to 9 AM. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.

MUW partners with hospital for new nursing program

This program allows Registered Nursing students to work alongside professionals, becoming student nurse residents. Two students from the existing nurse extern program will be selected for this new opportunity, enhancing their practical experience and preparing them for future nursing roles.

Escapee captured, ending manhunt
