Tracking rain associated with Invest 90-L and a continued flood threat
SUMMARY: Severe weather alerts have been downgraded from alert to impact day in Southeast Louisiana. While flash flood warnings affected Slidell, rain is now concentrated offshore. Doppler radar shows steady rain in areas like Kentwood and Covington, although totals reached nearly five inches in Talasheek and parts of Slidell today. Flood watches remain in effect through Saturday morning, with another alert day expected tomorrow due to potential heavy rainfall. Currently, a tropical wave is off the Texas coast but lacks organization. Rain chances are forecasted to continue through the weekend, possibly affecting Sunday events, including the Saints game.
Meteorologist Devon Lucie shows us where the heaviest rain is right now, how much rain we got earlier in the day, the connection our rain right now has to possible tropical development, how much more rain you’ll get, how that will affect Saints Sunday, with one last look at the rest of the tropics where areas of concern are located and how likely they are to develop with a final check of your seven day forecast.
