SUMMARY: Dallas police chief Eddie Garcia confirmed that Officer Darren Burks was intentionally targeted and executed while sitting in his squad car in Oak Cliff. Officer Burks, a 20-year math teaching veteran, was shot by Cory Cobb, who had a history of anti-law enforcement sentiments. Cobb also wounded two additional officers during a subsequent gunfight before leading police on a chase that ended with his death. The investigation revealed that Cobb had planned the attack, following recent confrontations with police. Additionally, a 2-year-old girl was shot in a road rage incident, and a woman was accused of embezzling funds from a youth cheerleading association.

2 suspects arrested after HPD officer was shot during a home invasion were out on bond for other cri
SUMMARY: Three men were arrested following a shooting involving a Houston police officer during a home invasion in the Spring Branch area. Eighteen-year-old Brian Chavez appeared in court, charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and was assigned a $100,000 bond. Brothers Michael and Raymond Perez, who have extensive criminal records and were out on bond for prior offenses, are also scheduled to appear in court later today. The arrests are part of ongoing investigations related to the incident.
Raymond Perez, the accused shooter, and Michael Perez have prior felony convictions, according to records, and both were out on bond when the shooting happened.

Cruz: Hate ‘manifesting right here’ during hearing on campus antisemitism | National
