Morning Forecast – Friday, Aug. 30th
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Chase Ward reports cloudy skies with light drizzle dissipating, but potential redevelopment of showers later today. Beneficial rainfall from yesterday will continue, with expectations of an additional quarter to half an inch today. Current temperatures are in the mid-70s, and afternoon highs may reach the upper 80s, with some southern areas nearing 90. The weather pattern will remain unsettled throughout Labor Day weekend, with similar conditions expected daily. Showers and thunderstorms will develop in the afternoon due to enhanced seabreezes, maintaining moisture levels. Rainfall totals could reach up to an inch by the weekend’s end.
The unsettled pattern will continue today as a few light showers have popped up in a few places this morning. Enhanced sea breezes will aid in keeping rain chances in the forecast through the weekend. Clouds cover will also continue with limited sunshine. A front will arrive late this weekend and stall out helping to prolong rain chances through next week. Keep the umbrella and rain jacket handy, but at least the rainfall is a welcoming sight especially since temperatures will trend a tad cooler.
