SEC institutes new rule requiring schools to provide public injury reports
SUMMARY: The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has mandated increased transparency regarding player injury statuses for all member institutions, including Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Starting this football season, schools must submit availability reports three days prior to games, with daily updates leading to a final report 90 minutes before kickoff. Players will be classified as โavailable,โ โprobable,โ โquestionable,โ โdoubtful,โ or โout.โ Noncompliance could result in fines ranging from $25,000 to $100,000. This rule also applies to men‘s and women’s basketball, baseball, and softball, with slightly lower penalties for noncompliance. Coaches will need to adapt to this change to avoid penalties.

The trial focused on whether Gregg was insane at the time of the crime. Despite her defense arguing her unstable mental state and presenting testimony from Heath, who described her as unrecognizable during the attack, the jury sided with the prosecution. Medical experts indicated that Gregg was aware of her actions. She received two concurrent life sentences for first-degree murder and attempted murder, along with an additional 10 years for tampering with evidence. An appeal is planned.
