Employees told to walk off job at Fulton County Jail | FOX 5 News

SUMMARY: Strategic Security Corporation, which employed around 80 security officers at the jail, terminated its operations due to unpaid bills from the Fton County Sheriff’s Office, amounting to nearly a million dollars over three months. Sheriff Pat Labat acknowledged the financial issues, linking them to historical underfunding of the office. Although Strategic Security ceased services officially at 5 p.m., they instructed their employees to leave earlier. Sheriff Labat has since offered jobs to 47 of the displaced workers from Strategic Security. The situation highlights the complexities of budget allocation for the Sheriff’s Office amid ongoing financial challenges.

A security contractor for the Fulton County Jail told their employees to walk off the job and out of the jail because the sheriff’s office failed to pay the contractor almost a million dollars. FOX 5’s Eric Mock has the story.

2 arrests made in connection to DeKalb County Jail

Lawmakers push for death penalty for Jose Ibarra
