Outdoor Adventures with Chelsea: Shooting sports
SUMMARY: Shooting sports are gaining popularity beyond hunting, with the Crossroad Shooting Sports Association in Alorn County leading the way. Nathan Hendrick, the range owner and instructor, emphasizes that proper technique, from gun handling to stance, is crucial for accuracy. During a competition-style air rifle session, participants aim at a bullseye the size of a pencil tip from 10 meters away. Suitable clothing, like stiff jackets and pants, enhances stability while shooting. Hendrick enjoys seeing his students succeed, some starting from a young age. He believes that with dedication, aiming for the 2028 Olympics is a realistic goal.
