Mail thieves target affordable housing apartment complex for third time in past month

Thieves have been caught on camera stealing mail multiple times, with one incident on July 30 involving two men who unlocked mailboxes and took off with numerous stolen items. Frustrated residents, including Leana Bledo Spivey, shared their concerns, highlighting personal losses including stolen credit cards and essential items. Management has reported that local law enforcement will increase patrols in the area, urging anyone with information on the thefts to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office.

Opening up her mailbox, Laishanna Bledsoe-Spivey is relieved to see envelopes inside. Lately, mail has been a gamble, since the Greens at Brentwood apartments have been hit by mail thieves three different times in the past month. The apartments are near Mission Bend and considered affordable housing. Apartment management said thieves stole clothing and iPhones from neighbors’ mailboxes. Bledsoe Spivey said a thief activated a credit card that was stolen from a man’s mailbox.
