Lexington murder case headed to Grand Jury

SUMMARY: Luis Ramos, a 29-year-old Lexington man, is facing charges of murder and using restricted ammunition after allegedly shooting 24-year-old decoin Collins in Collins’ driveway on August 20. Police responded to a verbal dispute call, and Ramos confessed to shooting Collins, who was found unresponsive and later died at the hospital. Reports indicate that Collins was attempting to enter his home, where his children were present, at the time of the shooting. Ramos has claimed self-defense, but no witnesses have corroborated his account. The case is being referred to a grand jury for further proceedings.
