New York Supreme Court throws out busing lawsuit ending 11-month saga | National
SUMMARY: The New York Supreme Court dismissed a lawsuit by Mayor Eric Adams against 17 busing companies transporting illegal border crossers from Texas, marking the end of an 11-month legal battle. Justice Mary Rosado criticized the lawsuit for using an outdated law and highlighted the unconstitutionality of restricting migration based on economic status. Despite New York City’s costs for housing thousands of migrants, Adams expressed ongoing budget constraints due to the crisis and urged for federal support. Since Texas began busing migrants in April 2022, New York received over 45,900, contributing to projected costs of $12 billion for the city.
