Slightly Hotter, Isolated Showers and T-Storms Sunday: Saturday Evening Forecast 8/24/2024
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Grant Skinner reports that the tropics remain quiet, aided by dust from Africa, with minimal activity expected through August. Currently, isolated showers are occurring mainly in Northwest Florida, while most regions stay dry due to dry air over Northern Alabama and parts of the Southeast. Conditions will turn more humid starting midweek, with temperatures in the low to mid-90s feeling hotter. Tomorrow holds a 30% chance for isolated coastal showers, while the work week will maintain similar rain chances and humid conditions. Overall, it’s advised to stay hydrated and prepared for changing weather.
It was a seasonably hot day with highs in the low-90’s and upper-80’s at the coast. We will see more of the same tomorrow with a chance for isolated showers and storms. Overnight, we will have mostly clear skies and temperatures in the low- to mid-70’s. Those isolated downpours will likely develop into the afternoon, and highs will be seasonable in the low- to mid-90’s. Rip current risk will be moderate for tomorrow and Monday, but it will drop to a low risk by Tuesday. The next work week will be slightly higher humidity, but it will not be unbearable. Highs will be in the mid-90’s, and isolated showers and storms are possible each day. The tropics remain quiet!
