Even Warmer Monday, Isolated Showers by Tuesday: Sunday Evening Forecast 11/24/2024
SUMMARY: Meteorologist Grant Skinner reports a beautiful weekend on the Gulf Coast with some low cloud cover due to increasing warmth and moisture. The colors of the sky, including pinks and purples, are caused by light scattering, depending on the atmosphere and cloud cover. Temperatures were in the mid-70s, and the evening remains mild with temperatures in the 60s. Tomorrow will see similar temperatures, with a slight chance of rain along the coast. A cold front arrives Tuesday, bringing brief showers and cooler temperatures mid-week. Another front on Thursday will bring cooler weather and potentially chilly conditions by the weekend.
After a cold morning, we quickly warmed into the 70’s by the afternoon. Winds switched to out of the south bringing warmth and moisture to the News 5 area. Tonight, we will be more mild with lows dropping to around 50 inland and the mid- to upper-50’s closer to the coastline. We will be even warmer for Monday ahead of our next front with highs jumping into the mid- to upper-70’s. We will stay dry overnight, but a brief shower along the coast can not be ruled out on Monday. We will see a weak front pass through our area on Tuesday bringing the chance for a few showers. It will likely stall south of the area and then lift north as a warm front, and it will bring a brief shower chance on Wednesday. Finally on Thanksgiving Thursday, another stronger front will swing through the area bringing a chance for scattered showers and storms. After that front passes, temperatures will likely take a tumble into next weekend. Highs will drop into the 50’s with lows in the 30’s by Saturday morning.
