McComb police seize illegal guns nearly every shift
SUMMARY: McComb police in Mississippi report regularly confiscating firearms, notably assault weapons like AR-15s. During a training event, officers demonstrated the destructive capacity of such guns, which can easily penetrate common home materials, including wooden doors and vehicles. Lt. Kayla Moore highlighted that most local homes are wood-frame, making them vulnerable to bullet penetration. Cpl. Tyler Harvey noted that many recovered rounds are designed for over-penetration. The police emphasize the importance of securing firearms properly to prevent theft, urging owners to store guns in safes and avoid leaving them in vehicles.
