High schools, colleges adapt to ever-changing world of AI
SUMMARY: High schools and colleges are adapting to the rapid changes brought by artificial intelligence (AI), with leaders acknowledging the need for clear policies. Caledonia High School Principal Gregory Elliott emphasizes training teachers to guide students on appropriate AI usage, highlighting both its benefits and potential for misuse. At MUW, Provost Scott Tollison notes varying faculty preferences regarding AI on assignments. While AI can aid in generating ideas, improper use may undermine academic integrity. Both educators stress that AI should supplement, not replace, original thought, as future job markets may favor those proficient in AI tools. Proper usage is essential to maintain learning integrity.
