UTA to open new campus in west Fort Worth
SUMMARY: The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is set to expand with a new campus called UTA West in Fort Worth, approved by the Board of Regents. Situated on 51 acres at the I20 and I30 intersection in the Walsh Ranch development, this campus aims to accommodate over 10,000 students. Austin police identify man killed in deadly officer-involved shooting | FOX 7 Austin
SUMMARY: Austin Police have provided updates on a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred last Tuesday. Officers responded to reports of an armed man, identified as 59-year-old Franklin Miller, breaking into a nail salon. Upon locating him shortly before midnight, police found Miller with a gun in his waistband. Attempts to deescalate the situation failed as Miller ignored commands and raised his weapon at the officers, resulting in five officers returning fire. A witness corroborated the events, describing a tense standoff before Miller aimed his gun. Body camera footage from the incident is set to be released next week.
A man killed in a North Austin officer-involved shooting on Sept. 10, was identified by police.

Pipeline explodes, catches fire in Houston suburb
SUMMARY: A gas pipe explosion in suburban Houston early this morning created a massive fire plume, prompting Deer Park first responders to evacuate nearby neighborhoods, with some homes catching fire.
