Columbus nonprofit gives tumblers to homeless population
SUMMARY: In Columbus, Mississippi, where July and August are peak heat months, staying hydrated is crucial, especially for the homeless. To address this issue, the city is partnering with Building Bridges of Hope to distribute “Hydration for Humanity” tumblers that keep beverages cold for 24 hours. The initiative has received support from the Columbus Police Department, which often interacts with the homeless. Officers will carry water and Gatorade, while local businesses like Zachary’s will refill these tumblers for free. Glenda Richardson hopes this effort will foster community unity and compassion for those in need.

How Isaac Smith became MSUโs top defender
SUMMARY: Isaac Smith, a safety for Mississippi State, emerged as a football standout at Itawamba Agricultural High School, attracting Division I offers. Coming from an athletic family, with his father playing at Ole Miss, Isaac’s first offer also came from there. However, he felt a strong connection with Mississippi State and its late coach Mike Leach, who he admired for his kindness, including attending a game when Isaac wasn’t playing. Following Leach’s unexpected passing, Isaac sought guidance through prayer and ultimately chose Mississippi State, feeling called to be there. Today, he remains committed, regardless of coaching changes.
