Community Rallies Behind Family Of Violet Satterfield | July 27, 2024 | News 19 at 9 p.m. – Weekend

The Arab community banded together Saturday, carrying out a “Ride for Vy” that saw nearly 100 bikers take a journey in honor of Violet Satterfield.

Community mourns the loss of University of Mobile men’s basketball player

Alabama weather forecast turns freezing cold with frost possible this weekend

The Christkindlmarkt celebration begins tomorrow at Depot Park, with a high of 57 degrees but blustery conditions. Wind chills will feel much colder, especially in the morning, with lows around 38 degrees. Gusts may exceed 20 mph, particularly on Thursday. Friday morning will be cold with wind chills as low as 26 in Cullman. Frost is anticipated Saturday, though temperatures will rise to 58 later in the day. Warmer weather is expected next week, reaching nearly 70 degrees by Monday.

SUMMARY: A woman and her five children are now homeless after their Baldwin County home was destroyed by a fire early this morning. The blaze occurred in the Stonebridge neighborhood, with firefighters responding to a 911 call between 1:30 and 2:00 AM. Abby Granson awoke to an orange glow from the back of the house, which was engulfed in smoke and fire upon arrival of the firefighters. The house is a total loss, and the fire, which started on the back deck, is being investigated as suspicious by the State Fire Marshal. Fortunately, all family members are safe.
