Semi-trailer truck carrying paper rolls struck by train in Gulfport
SUMMARY: An 18-wheeler was hit by an eastbound train at the notorious 33rd Street crossing in Gulfport around 7:30 AM, marking yet another incident involving trucks and trains in the area. The truck’s cab cleared the tracks, but the trailer became stuck, leading to the collision. This is the third such incident in six months, with two fatalities involving trains and vehicles reported nearby. Residents are alarmed, noting the frequent occurrence of trucks bottoming out at this location. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this latest incident, echoing a previous event where a truck carrying bananas was also unharmed.
Neighbors living near the 33rd Avenue crossing in Gulfport said it isn’t the first time a stuck semi-truck caused a crash on the tracks.
