Foursome promoted at Laurel Police Department
SUMMARY: Four new officers are set to enhance safety in the Laurel Community. Officers Mak Davis and Jacob Gian Gro were promoted to sergeants, while Rodriguez Carr and Heath Blanchett became lieutenants. Together, they bring over 65 years of law enforcement experience. Currently, the department is short by 15 officers but hopes to fill these vacancies soon. A pending pay raise effective October 1 is expected to encourage former officers and lateral transfers to rejoin the force. Mayor Johnny McGee officiated the swearing-in ceremony, marking a promising step for the city‘s police department.
