Lauren Johansen murder suspect moved to Forrest County, facing additional charges
SUMMARY: Bryson Rivers, 23, has been charged with first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and vehicle theft following the killing of Lauren Johansson. Rivers was involved in a six-hour manhunt and is now held in the Forest County Adult Detention Center. Investigators concluded that Johansson was murdered outside Harrison County, prompting jurisdiction to shift to Forest County. District Attorney Crosby Parker acknowledged the collaborative efforts of law enforcement in determining this. Rivers is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, with the Forest County Sheriff’s Office leading the ongoing investigation. Updates will follow as new information emerges.
