Aviation summer camp students explore Gulfport on last day of camp

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Aviation Heritage summer camp concluded with immersing themselves in aviation over two weeks. They engaged in activities such as building engines, 3D printing, and experiencing flight simulation. On the final day, campers the Mississippi National Guard base and learned about career opportunities in aviation and military service. The museum’s executive director highlighted the vital role of donations and volunteers in making this experience possible. Students also gained insights into the commercial airline industry at the – International Airport, culminating in a graduation ceremony to celebrate their learning journey.

The campers spend their last day getting a close-up look at the helicopters at the Mississippi Air National Guard Base in Gulfport.
