SUMMARY: Three sophomores from Mississippi Coast’s national championship golf team—Will Burnham, Wise, and Andrew Zielinski—received Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar for their academic and athletic achievements. To qualify, players must participate in at least 50% of competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 77, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2. Burnham, ranked No. 1 nationally, graduated with a 3.84 GPA and will play at Southern Miss. Wise, with a 3.65 GPA, will continue at Mississippi , and Zielinski, ranked No. 2, graduated with a 3.92 GPA and will join Lee .

SUMMARY: Montrell Chapman, a sophomore linebacker from Batesville, has been named Bulldog of the for Sept. 9-15 after contributing 10 tackles, one for loss, in No. 5 Coast’s 27-20 victory over No. 10 Jones. His interception concluded Jones’s final and helped limit the opponent to 207 total yards. Other nominees included freshman quarterback Landon Varnes, who threw for 310 yards and two touchdowns, leading a win, and sophomore JP Coulter, who recorded nine receptions for 118 yards and returned three punts for 45 yards. Pearl River’s first-ever women’s golf team set for debut

SUMMARY: Pearl Community College will debut its first-ever women’s golf team on Monday and Tuesday, becoming one of three community colleges in Mississippi to do so. Head coach Coby Scarborough expressed excitement about leading the team, which comprises six skilled golfers chosen from tryouts. The team will participate in the MACCC preview at Tunica National. Players Maya Morelos and Courtney Brewer are expected to leadership, with Brewer being a seasoned transfer. Other team members, Gracie Allgood, Elizabeth Purvis, Ashlynn Goss, and Lilian Sanzin, bring diverse experiences and dedication to the inaugural season.
