When temperatures exceed 95°F, dogs should be outside for only 15-20 minutes to avoid heat stroke, which shows as heavy panting, drooling, red gums, high heart rate, and balance issues. Move affected pets to shade and offer room temperature , then visit the vet. Avoid hot concrete and asphalt, which can reach dangerous temperatures quickly. Use paw pad medicine or boots, and water, shade, and possibly a kiddy pool for dogs outdoors.
