Coast Electric crews restore power for thousands following Hurricane Francine
SUMMARY: As Hurricane Francine caused power outages for thousands along the coast, Bailey Peterson, an apprentice lineman, worked amid over 13,000 outages in Hancock, Harrison, and Pearl River Counties. Sustained winds reached up to 90 mph, prompting safety measures that halted work as winds exceeded 35 mph. Crews prepared for safety, and Coast Electric brought in 200 additional workers to address the damage. Senior engineer CJ Wilson emphasized the importance of being prepared for future storms, noting the privilege of helping the community restore power and witnessing the joy of residents as their lights were turned back on.
