SUMMARY: Former President Obama and Speaker Emerita Pelosi have expressed concerns about President Biden‘s 2024 candidacy. Pelosi, showing Biden polling data, suggested he might not defeat Trump, though she later contested the portrayal of their conversation. Obama has shared his concerns privately and taken calls from Democratic leaders and donors. Biden remains resolute about running, despite internal pressure for reassessment. Democrats like Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Adam Schiff worry about losing control of Congress and have had candid talks with Biden. Amidst calls for reevaluation, Biden is steadfast, contending with COVID-19 and internal party divisions.
