73 Bulldogs named to NJCAA All-Academic teams
SUMMARY: Mississippi Gulf Coast finished in the top 25 of over 400 community colleges for the 2023-24 NJCAA All-Academic Student-Athlete Awards, ranking 23rd overall and third among MACCC schools. The college honored 23 athletes on the First Team with perfect 4.0 GPAs, 23 on the Second Team (3.80-3.99 GPAs), and 27 on the Third Team (3.60-3.79 GPAs). The First Team members include athletes from men‘s and women’s soccer, softball, football, women’s tennis, and baseball. Pearl River’s first-ever women’s golf team set for debut
SUMMARY: Pearl River Community College will debut its first-ever women’s golf team on Monday and Tuesday, becoming one of three community colleges in Mississippi to do so. Head coach Coby Scarborough expressed excitement about leading the team, which comprises six skilled golfers chosen from tryouts. The team will participate in the MACCC preview at Tunica National. Players Maya Morelos and Courtney Brewer are expected to provide leadership, with Brewer being a seasoned transfer. Other team members, including Gracie Allgood, Elizabeth Purvis, Ashlynn Goss, and Lilian Sanzin, bring diverse experiences and dedication to the inaugural season.

West Harrison Rides The Ground Game To Overwhelm East Marion 48-12
SUMMARY: The West Harrison Hurricanes (2-1) dominated the East Marion Eagles (0-3) with a 48-12 victory in their home opener on Friday. The Hurricanes outgained the Eagles with 406 yards, shutting them out for the first three quarters. Coach Quincy Patrick praised the defensive line’s performance.
