Fallen EMS workers honored in the State Capitol for their service

SUMMARY: Williams, missing since July 9th, was found this morning, died from accidental drowning. Fallen EMS workers were honored at the capitol by the national organization Moving Honors, which traveled across 18 states, Mississippi, to commemorate 36 EMS workers. Chris Pearson, a member, attended to honor his late father, Robbie Pearson, who served with Padford EMS for 38 years. Chris expressed pride in continuing his father’s legacy. The forms part of an annual tradition recognizing the service and dedication of all EMS personnel.

Interview: Grammy Museum in Mississippi displaying Taylor Swift exhibit

Tupelo's Braylen Williams ruled ineligible to compete in the 2024-2025 academic year

SUMMARY: Brillan Williams, a football player from High School, has been ruled ineligible by the MHSAA for the 2024-2025 school year after transferring from Nettleton High School. The MHSAA determined that Williams’ move was not a bona fide transfer, stating it was purely for athletic reasons and occurred outside the transfer window. Tupelo High made a case for his eligibility since summer, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Williams had previously played as a quarterback at Nettleton High for two years.
