Questions, concerns about future with Buckatunna gymnasium gone
SUMMARY: Wayne County residents are concerned about Batana School’s future after its gym was demolished recently. Former student Lisa Taylor shares impactful memories of the gym, including joining the basketball team and experiencing personal growth. The gym also holds sentimental value as the place where she attended her first homecoming dance with her now-husband. Engineers previously condemned the gym, causing the basketball team to play at Wayne County High School for the 2023 season. With uncertainty surrounding upcoming events like graduations, the community plans to meet and seek answers from the district at the next School Board meeting.
