Jackson apartment complex without water
SUMMARY: Residents at a North Jackson apartment complex, Gardenside Apartments, experienced a day without water, prompting concerns. The complex, home to mainly senior citizens and disabled veterans, has unpaid water bills totaling nearly $150,000, with the last payment made in February 2017. Residents, who pay their water bills through rent, were unaware of the issue. Audwin Reese, a Navy veteran, expressed disappointment and concern for his neighbors. Hinds County District 2 Supervisor Tony Smith, upon visiting, noted poor living conditions, including maintenance issues and sewage problems. JXN Water cut off the service after unsuccessfully attempting to collect the overdue payments.
Owners of apartment complex haven’t paid their water bill in seven years and it’s affecting the tenants of this apartment complex
