Interview: Battle of the Badges blood drive to be held in Chickasaw County on July 16
SUMMARY: During summer, blood banks see a significant drop in donations, leading to shortages. To combat this, Chickasaw County law enforcement is organizing a “Battle of the Badges” event featuring a friendly competition among fire departments, police, sheriff’s departments, EMS, and 911 to encourage blood donations. This event will take place in Houston, Chickasaw County, from 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chief Deputy Keith Robertson emphasizes the importance of donating blood, noting that only 3% of Americans donate. Each donation can save three lives, underscoring the critical need for contributions, especially from first responders who witness the necessity firsthand.
First responders will battle it out next week in Chickasaw County.
