Grind to Glory: TCPS to rely on new crop of seniors
SUMMARY: “Grind to Glory,” sponsored by Southern Housing, features the TCPS Eagles in Tupelo. Senior Jake Franklin Ramsay emphasizes the importance of not getting complacent, especially after the significant graduation of over 10 players last season. The new senior class, including quarterback Jeb Brown, is stepping up to fill leadership roles. Brown is committed to holding teammates accountable and pushing the young, new faces to improve. Last season, TCPS finished 8-4, exiting in the second playoff round. This season, the team aims to build on last year’s success, starting against East Union Urchins on August 30th. Teen suspect pleads out in death of USM football player
SUMMARY: A 16-year-old suspect, Nytavion Shaw, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Southern Miss football player M. J. Daniels. Daniels was killed while sitting in his car at his apartment on June 11. Shaw is being tried as an adult and faces 20 to 40 years in prison. Sentencing has been postponed to a later date. Three other suspects, Marcus Gardner, Samir Green, and Orlando May, are also involved in the case and remain in jail while awaiting trial for their roles in Daniels’ murder.
